Project Buyer Zeddam, the Netherlands
Are you ready to work together at our client Royal Pas Reform on the further professionalisation of the procurement function?

As Project Buyer, you are responsible for further optimising the operational and tactical procurement process. You are continuously looking for structural improvements and cost savings for all procurement-related processes. You translate the technical issues of our customers into the procurement of the right products of the best quality at the right price. In this role, you intensively work together with your planning, logistics and engineering colleagues.
Your responsibilities as Project Buyer
Monitor and optimise supplier performance relating to quality, delivery lead time, flexibility and cost efficiency.
You proactively analyse current and future technical installations and machinery at the technical component level, after which you start looking for new partners or possible forms of collaboration.
Perform benchmarking and contract negotiations on the basis of a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) perspective.
You provide direction for standardising and professionalising the current procurement and logistics process, and the organisation.
Naturally, your primary responsibility is to ensure that specific manufactured parts, commodities and services are purchased at the right time, at the best quality and at a good price.
With a critical view and an open attitude, you proactively and continuously assess all opportunities to structurally reduce costs and optimise profit, without compromising quality.
What we expect from you
You have a vocational (MBO+) or professional (HBO) education (preferably in a technical field), and you have completed the Dutch Association for Procurement Management (NEVI) I and II training programmes.
You have two to eight years’ experience in a tactical and operational procurement position, preferably in an international technical working environment, such as mechanical engineering, the metal industry, electrical engineering, a production environment or equivalent.
You are a self-starter with a no-nonsense and hands-on approach and you are a real team worker.
A critical and positive outlook. You are enterprising, resolute and results-oriented.
Experience with comprehensive outsourcing processes, procurement of complete modules and supplier development. Knowledge and experience with machining, extrusion techniques and assembly processes is a clear preference for us.
You know how to separate matters of importance from matters of secondary importance, you are confident and are able to hold your own in discussions with suppliers, as well as the internal organisation.
